When you look at a web page, you might wonder how it is made. To display a web page, your Internet browser reads and interprets a special set of instructions. These instructions are written primarily in two languages: HTML and CSS. So Whai is CSS?
CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets . CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed on screen, paper, or in other media. CSS saves a lot of work. It can control the layout of multiple web pages all at once . External stylesheets are stored in CSS files. CSS is used to define styles for your web pages, including the design, layout and variations in display for different devices and screen sizes.
Web pages display content and have an underlying structure defined by HTML. The content can include text, images, links, or even audio and video. Most HTML elements are written using opening <element> and closing </element> tags that tell the browser what type of content to display. The tags are written in a specific order to define the structure of the page.
Notes:
- The style definitions are normally saved in external .css files.
- With an external stylesheet file, you can change the look of an entire website by changing just one file!
